Our principals began JHM Hotels in 1973 with the modest 40 room Sunset Motel in Pomona, California. Over 45 years, the talented Rama family grew the business into one of the largest, privately owned, hospitality companies in the country. In 2017, the time came to put a succession plan into place, allowing the first generation to pass the baton to the second generation. The JHM Hotels’ name was retired, and Auro Hotels was born.

We are grounded in sound business practices and stand on a solid financial foundation built by our forefathers, even as we seek to bring imaginative, unique and category-leading solutions to each hotel project.
Auro Hotels’ current portfolio includes 30 hotels in the United States, and two properties in India, operating under well-known brands such as Marriott, Hilton and Hyatt. In addition, there are 9 properties in the design phase or under construction, with others in the pipeline.

Auro’s sales teams are customer-oriented sellers, relationship builders, and the creators and deliverers of value. There is a culture that promotes nurturing long-term, profitable relationships, celebrates out-of-the-box thinking, and encourages accountability and professionalism to drive top-line revenue.
Auro’s marketing team provides professional graphic design for collateral materials and advertising, web design, digital marketing, social media, branding, and public relations.
The real estate team within Auro Hotels is responsible for tracking market growth and industry trends, sourcing new development and acquisition opportunities, and ensuring the portfolio of hotels remains on strategy. This disciplined approach, from property inception to disposition, has allowed Auro to see continued growth for nearly 50 years.
Auro’s Revenue Management department works in tandem with the hotels to build and maintain individualized revenue strategies. This department analyzes market demand, historical trends, and competitive pricing to predict and maximize revenue potential and measure success. They work to ensure each hotel is growing market share and exceeding RevPAR goals.
Design & Construction
Auro Hotels has an experienced Design and Construction team focused on creating long term value. Auro Hotels’ Design & Construction group leads the planning, design, budgeting, procurement, construction management, and completion of complex hotel development, re-development and conversion projects. Since 2011, Auro has invested over 175 million dollars on 29 value generating projects. Auro’s attention to detail creates the best product for the best value in in a timely fashion to ensure operational success.
