In an annual awards celebration to recognize excellence in the company, JHM Hotels recently awarded Marriott Courtyard on the Parkway the coveted Hotel of the Year Award.
The hotel of the year award is given to the property in the JHM portfolio that has achieved the greatest impact in all areas of their five-star model including Guest Satisfaction, Associate Satisfaction, Profit, Revenue and Quality of the Product presented. They were commended for the best balanced approach of JHM’s 5 stars concept. Under the leadership of their General Manager, Scott McDowell, they posted a remarkable scorecard in 2012.
The Star Associates of the property go above and beyond their duties. Most are cross trained in multiple positions and many received internal promotions last year. In addition, the hotel excelled financially, exceeding budgeted revenues by over 20%, while managing its bottom line. Guest Satisfaction Surveys were consistently well above brand average, noting the neatness and cleanliness of the property.
Marriott Courtyard received a trophy and $1,001 for the GM and his team to use however they wished. Leading the team with a heart of service, manager Scott McDowell chose to donate their winnings to a recent corporate walk that benefitted a colleague with cancer. His choice, just like his leadership style, exemplifies remarkable service.
